Activity Bus

Activity Bus If You'd Like to Stay After SchoolIf you’ve been in Chicago long enough, chances are high that you’ve seen a De La Salle Activity Bus. If you’d like to be on any sports teams or clubs and transportation would be difficult, don’t let it deter you from participating. Our Meteor Activity Bus runs on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and is provided to those participating in after school extra-curricular activities to transport students to points near to their homes along the bus route boundaries. The Activity Bus covers both the Gold and Blue Routes. See maps for details. Student will board the Activity buses outside the Activity Center on 35th St., outside of doors 6 & 7 at 5:45 pm, and the buses will promptly depart at 6:00 pm. You have to be participating in a school-sanctioned extracurricular activity to be allowed on the Activity Bus. Students who stay after school for other reasons, such as detention, socializing with friends or being a spectator at a sporting event must arrange their own transportation home.

Lasallian Tradition Uncategorized

Lasallian Tradition

Lasallian Tradition “St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.” “Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.” “Live Jesus in Our Hearts, forever!” There’s nothing quite like hearing an auditorium of 700+ students and 60+ faculty and staff pray these words together, but even more so at the start of every class period, every school day. Whether it’s your first day at De, or at graduation, these words become part of your De La Salle Experience, grounding you in the Lasallian tradition that connects us to the world. To the world? Yes. When Meteors become members of the De La Salle community, they’re also welcomed into an expansive world-wide network and community of faith that extends much farther than our campus on 35th and Michigan. Since 1680, the Christian Brothers have been carrying the torch of de La Salle’s mission, resulting in thousands of Lasallian schools in over 80 countries. De La Salle Institute in Chicago is one of them. We teach based on the vision and spirituality of St. John Baptist de La Salle. A Lasallian education goes beyond academic excellence. Our teachers, led by the values that De La Salle taught his own teachers, strive to touch…
