Alumni

Our incredible alumni network—more than 20,000 strong—is an invaluable resource. We invite you to take advantage of the many ways to stay connected.

De La Salle Alumni know where home is. Though we come from various backgrounds, have traveled down unique career paths, and represent nearly every neighborhood of this city, what unites us all is the same institution that has successfully prepared us for the future: De La Salle Institute.

Alumni Campus Visits
Want to take a walk down memory lane? We love it when our alumni come back to campus! In order to make sure our team is meeting your expectations and goals, we ask that alumni please reach out to Lindsey Naughton at naughtonl@dls.org or 312-842-7355 to schedule a visit.
Campus tours are generally available on M-F from 9am-3pm. Those wishing to talk to teachers are best advised to plan for a 2:45 arrival time, right before our students are released for the day. Please note that on Wednesdays the school follows a special schedule and conditions may not be ideal for such visits. Anyone entering campus will be required to check-in at the security desk and provide a valid I.D. for entry during school hours.

Alumni Association

The De La Salle Alumni Association (DLSAA) boasts over 20,000 members. Throughout De La Salle’s 134-year history, the Alumni Association has remained a core presence of our school’s continued success. It has been the mission of this Association to provide service to members and De La Salle Institute through the development, initiation, and sponsorship, as well as support of activities, programs, and services. We are proud and excited to continue such a strong tradition in many ways such as:

  • Seeing you at annual events such as our Alumni Weekend, Great Futures and the Golf Classic
  • Celebrating the support of your school by volunteering your time as a Class Rep
  • Staying connected through our social media accounts and Alumni Newsletters
  • And more!

Ways to Get Involved

Class Rep Program

Class Reps help to connect classmates by spreading the word about our special events, assist in the accuracy of our database records and help collect exciting updates to share with the community and feature in our Alumni Newsletters. Please contact Lindsey Naughton to volunteer.

Alumni Board

The De La Salle Institute/Lourdes High School Alumni Board plays an active role in all alumni activities, including Reunions, Class Reps, Alumni Giving and the Honor Key and Sports Hall of Fame awards. The purpose of the Board is to foster relationships with and between alumni. Please contact Lindsey Naughton if interested.

Honor Key Award

Each year, the Alumni Association awards the Honor Key Award.  All Honor Key recipients are graduates and/or current or former faculty/staff members of De La Salle Institute who have distinguished themselves by their achievements while at De La Salle and/or by their civic, commercial or humanitarian success.

The 2023 Honor Key Award is being bestowed upon Tony Brooks ’75, who was honored at the Alumni Weekend. Congratulations Tony!

Outstanding Young Alumni Award

The De La Salle Outstanding Young Alumni Award is presented annually to an alumni who has graduated in the last fifteen years and has distinguished themselves by remaining dedicated to the mission of De La Salle. They will have demonstrated this through their readiness to share their time, talent and treasure with current students, serve as an example to other alumni and commit to helping sustain the future of the Institute.

We are thrilled to give the inaugural 2023 Outstanding Young Alumni Award to Marcus Carter ’13, who was honored at the Alumni Weekend.

Wall of Heroes

In honor and memory of De La Salle alumni who have served, or are currently serving, in our military, we created a Wall of Heroes in the Toth Foyer. It was unveiled on Veteran’s Day, November 11th, 2009.

Photos & Memorabilia: We seek photos of alumni in uniform and also donations of any military memorabilia items to enhance the Wall of Heroes display. Please contact Mr. John Brogan, Dean of Social Sciences, at broganj@dls.org if you have any materials to contribute.

Help us keep the Wall of Heroes up to date by completing a brief questionnaire with service member information if you are (or know of) alumni who has served or is currently serving in the military.
