Welcome to De La Salle Institute!
Over 300 years ago our namesake, St. John Baptist De La Salle, educated young people with a simple goal of transforming lives. This foundational mission, inspired by the Holy Spirit, rings true to this day in the hallways of De La Salle. One of St. La Salle’s most famous quotes was “To be entrusted with the teaching of the young is a great gift and grace of God”.
In my time here, I have witnessed an outstanding faculty, staff and community that authentically embraces that gift and grace, in delivering a well-rounded Catholic education. The Institute has been changing lives in Chicago’s Bronzeville and Bridgeport neighborhoods and surrounding communities since 1889. The De La Salle family is excited about the great future that lies ahead.
