Mission

Mission Adopted by the Board of DirectorsThrough the curriculum and outside resources, the faculty creates an atmosphere that encourages the capacity for right judgment, provides an introduction into the cultural heritage of American society, promotes a sense of Christian values, develops an appreciation of the aesthetic, and strives to prepare the students for professional and non-professional work in the world. The Christian Brothers, who own, administer and help staff De La Salle Institute, have worked with students of varying racial and ethnic backgrounds in order to develop the same skills and attitudes originally fostered by St. John Baptist de La Salle. The Brothers can point to the first director, Brother Adjutor, who professed that the Brothers were to provide the environment to foster the development of professional and academic skills which assist the students in becoming successful young men and women who would in turn contribute their talents to the community.Accordingly, the programs at De La Salle Institute are shaped by a dedication to the Christian life and values. In cooperation with the students and their families, the faculty strives to achieve the development of Christian, educated and cultured men and women. Through this cooperation, the students work toward the…

Message From The Principal

Message From The Principal Office of the Principal De La Salle is always learning. Our 135th year of teaching and learning begins with a sustained commitment to our Lasallian foundation, as well as the promise to continually define excellence in education for the world our students will inhabit. Our vision challenges us to make learning even more personal, inquiry-based and inclusive for every member of the De La Salle community. We understand--and research proves--that the most effective, most compelling learning happens when students feel engaged, healthy and included. At De La Salle, we create the conditions for this type of learning by utilizing our innovative curriculum, broad range of extra- curricular programs (artistic, athletic and academic), innovative teaching methods and thoughtfully-designed spaces to ensure the growth, wellness and achievement of all learners. We are sustained in all of this work by our values of faith, service, community, respect, and academic excellence. As a result, De La Salle learners are conscious and proactive about their learning, paving the way for the development of critical skills and an understanding of who they are that serves them not just in college, but for a lifetime. Be a De La Salle Learner! Visit us,…

Cafeteria

Cafeteria Breakfast and lunch are kind of a big deal around here. Before first period begins, students can enjoy a hearty breakfast. Whether you’d prefer breakfast burritos, french toast, hashbrowns, or scrambled eggs (or more!), we’re serious about students being physically ready and mentally prepared for their morning classes. Then, scheduled for as long as a class period (45 minutes!), our lunch period offers our students time to rest and recharge so that afternoon classes are met with as much success as the morning’s! It’s not uncommon to see students wrap up the eating portion of their lunch period early in order to decompress with a Netflix show, play some games with their friends, or get some homework done and study for an upcoming exam. We invite you to view this month's menu. Cafeteria Cashless System Students use their student ID to make purchases in the cafeteria (and in the Meteor Shop). A barcode on the student’s ID is linked to the My Meal Time system. Each student has their own account. Deposits can be made into their student account one of two ways: The student can bring cash or a check to the Meteor Shop to be deposited in…
