De La Salle congratulates former coach and faculty member Ron Rivera ’67 on his upcoming induction into the Chicago Catholic League Hall of Fame.
During his 12 years as the head varsity wrestling coach, Rivera guided the Meteors to an overall record of 153-73 and five Illinois High School Association regional championships. Rivera also coached 33 state qualifiers, 10 state placers and one state champion.
Rivera, who also served as De La Salle’s bass fishing team coach, retired from his alma mater at the conclusion of the 2013-14 school year, having been a faculty member at De La Salle since 1988.
He will be honored at the CCL Hall of Fame dinner on April 25 at 6 pm at Crystal Sky Banquet Hall in McCook. Tickets are $50. For more information, please email Marmion Academy’s Paul Chabura at pchabura@marmion.org.
