Congratulations to the members of the De La Salle Robotics Team on their efforts at the 2020 Midwest Regional First Robotics Competition that was held at Credit Union 1 Arena on the campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago this past weekend.

In all, 23 young women and men from De La Salle participated with the Meteors finishing 40th in the 54-team field.

“As a second-year team, we are proud of our students and what they accomplished,” De La Salle Dean of Applied Sciences and Mathematics Dale Burke ’00 said. “We thank NASA and Turtle Wax for their generous support in sponsoring our team.

“Cameron Laviste ‘20 stepped up as our project manager and worked well with our students. They improved upon their performance from last year. It was truly a team effort from start to finish.

“It was amazing to watch our students work together and accomplish the difficult tasks of designing, building, programming and troubleshooting,” Burke added. “The Meteors should be proud of their accomplishments and look forward to improving upon their successes next year.”

Along with Burke, the Meteor Robotics Team was guided by De La Salle faculty member Ron Cunat.

“I am very proud of the team’s work and behavior at the event,” Cunat said. “We are already talking about next year. I’d like to thank everyone for their best wishes.”

Great job, Meteors! Everyone at De La Salle is very proud of you!
