Principal’s Perspective, 9/13/22

Dear Parent/Guardian,

I am excited about the first weeks of the new school year. The beginning of a new school year marks a new opportunity to shape a fresh way to be oneself and engage with the world. And because the culture of relationships shared among students and teachers lies at the core of a De La Salle education—where faith, service, and community are fostered—what matters most is how we as a school community can join together to nurture this essential dimension of De La Salle life.

For the benefit of our students, I remain eager in my commitment to foster a culture of hope and creativity for all in our community in the coming year, and I am grateful for the opportunity to join with you in making this a great year for our Meteors.

City of De
City of De is our student council and I am very impressed by the leadership of Jack Tepper ’23 and Mia Nuñez ’23 in making big plans for this school year. Together with their counterparts in the City of De, they have planned and realized several successful in-person back-to-school events to welcome all of our students. There are many more activities and events planned to keep school spirit riding high throughout the school year.

Meteor Grow
Our students, faculty, and staff continue to build on last year’s newly formed Meteor Grow groups to cultivate a sense of community across all of our learning community. I am excited to see this school-wide initiative develop and become even stronger Lasallian community rooted in faith and committed to service and social justice.

Together, let us shape a year built on the best of our past while creating an inspiring present that can lead to a better future.

Thank you for being a part of the De La Salle community.

Sincerely,

Thomas Schergen
Principal
