De La Salle proudly announces that Dominic Freddura has been named the new head coach of our Meteor lacrosse program.

A native of Cambridge, MA, Freddura is a 2018 graduate of DePaul University and played two seasons of club lacrosse for the Blue Demons.

For Freddura, this is his first head coaching opportunity.

“I am so excited to teach these students and watch them grow and improve,” Freddura said. “This is an amazing opportunity to build the lacrosse program at ‘D’ and have the players get better on and off the field.

“I have (assistant) Coach Rich (Barnotes ’10) helping me out and his lacrosse experience and relationships with the players will lead to a good team dynamic.”

This will be De La Salle’s third season of having a lacrosse program. The Meteors will begin the 2020 season against Montini at home on March 19 at 7 pm. In all, the Meteors lacrosse program will participate in 11 matches this spring with three matches played at De La Salle.

“I want to make sure that our kids compete at the highest level, have fun out there, have a good season and grow our program,” Freddura said. “I want to teach the kids life skills and go from there. This is my first time coaching and I want to learn a lot.

“Judging from De La Salle’s track record, this is a great school with great athletics. We hope to develop the lacrosse program into a great program as well.”

Congratulations, Dominic, and best of luck this season! Welcome to De La Salle!
