Not only are our Meteors excellent on the field of competition, they also thrive in the classroom.

The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) has announced its Team Academic Awards for the 2019-20 school year.
In order to qualify for this plaudit, teams must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better during their respective seasons.
In the fall, De La Salle’s men’s and women’s cross country teams, men’s and women’s golf teams, football team, men’s soccer team and women’s swimming, tennis and volleyball teams were honored.
In the winter, men’s basketball, men’s bowling, men’s swimming, women’s basketball and women’s bowling were recognized.
In the spring, men’s baseball, men’s lacrosse, men’s track and field, men’s volleyball, men’s water polo, women’s soccer, women’s softball and women’s track and field were feted.
Since the IHSA began the Team Academic Awards program in the 2004-05 school year, De La Salle has had 147 of its teams honored with 73 teams in the last four years.
“This is certainly an impressive achievement,” Meteors athletic director Tom White said. “Our Meteors are well aware that they are student-athletes and they take their academics very seriously.
“On behalf of everyone at our school, I’d like to congratulate these exemplary young women and men for their success and wish them the best in their great futures.”
