Best of luck to the Meteors who are competing in this weekend’s IHSA Girls Track & Field state finals at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.
Competing for De La Salle is Melody Jones ’20 in the 100 and 200-meter dash and the foursome of Ivory Conner ’20, Nyla Dantzler ’21, Imani Phillips ’19 and Mia Tolbert ’20 in the 4 x 100 relay.
As a team, De La Salle was fifth in the IHSA Class 2A De La Salle Sectional last weekend with 34 points.
Jones was second in both the 100 (12.62 seconds) and the 200 (25.71 seconds). The 4 x 100 relay team also placed second with a time of 50.37 seconds.
