Congratulations to the Meteor varsity baseball team as it defeated Washington 9-1 on Saturday to win the IHSA Class 3A De La Salle Regional championship.
Rocco Arcieri (3-for-3, 3 runs scored), Billy LePretre (2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI) and Jeremy Figueroa (2-for-2, RBI) led De La Salle (20-6) offensively while winning pitcher Kade Walker struck out 10 and allowed one hit and no earned runs.
The Meteors will play in the IHSA Class 3A Brooks Sectional semifinals on Wednesday, May 29, at 4:45 pm against the winner of the Class 3A Brooks Regional.
Brooks High School is located at 250 E. 111th St. in Chicago.
