Faith. Service. Community.

For the last 130-plus years, these are the three tenets upon which De La Salle Institute has built its solid foundation.

And in these most uncertain times, it provides comfort and peace knowing the depth and strength of the faith of the members of the De La Salle community.

Through the use of the Schoology online learning platform, De La Salle campus minister Emily Vogel is beginning each day as she would a typical school day with prayer for the students, faculty and staff.

For this week, Vogel has chosen to draw her prayers from the book “Let Nothing Disturb You” as written by St. Teresa of Avila.

Readers are advised to “Discover the timeless spiritual counsel of St. Teresa of Avila.”

One of the highlights of the book is St. Teresa’s prayer “Let Nothing Disturb the Silence of This Moment with You, Oh Lord.”

“Prayer is timeless,” Vogel said. “And our church has a rich history of mystical contemplation from which we can really use during this time.

“I hope everyone finds it comforting and soulful!”

Thank you, Emily, for all your exemplary efforts and leadership of our faith community during this time!
