One of the true strengths of De La Salle is that our students develop a genuine caring and concern for others both inside and outside of the classroom.

As the attached article confirms, that desire to better the lives of others also extends to our alumni.

In a recent issue of the Chicago Tribune online, there was a feature written about Hysni (Terry) Selenica.

Not only is Mr. Selenica a chaplain for the Chicago Police Department (CPD), he’s also a 1994 graduate of De La Salle.

In this fascinating article, Chaplain Selenica – who is Muslim – talks about tending to the needs of his fellow members of the CPD regardless of any differences in faith and how he feels his ministry is his true calling.

Congratulations to Chaplain Selenica on his many achievements within the CPD and thank you for being an authentic Meteor in living a life of service to others.

Best of luck in all your future endeavors, Chaplain Selenica!
