De La Salle Institute stands fervently united in support of our country and against the unacceptable attack on democracy and our political system that took place in Washington, D.C.
As a Lasallian college preparatory high school, our primary role as educators is to engage the mind and touch the hearts of the students entrusted to our care. In this role, De La Salle Institute has been and is determined to educate our students about democracy, the electoral process and the transition of power.
We also educate our students on the importance of a moral compass which impacts the local and global community. We engage our students in honest and open dialogue in which truth is revered and maintained as we promote wisdom, growth and integrity.
As people of faith, we pray that a travesty such as this will never occur in this great country again. We also pray that our leaders will recognize that democracy is the unquestionable foundation of the United States and that cannot and will not be corrupted or compromised by any one person or group.
We ask that God continue to watch over, bless, guide and protect the people of the United States of America as we continue to pray for unity and peace.
