De La Salle Names Wrestling Head Coach

CHICAGO—June 24, 2021—De La Salle Institute (De La Salle) is pleased to announce Coach Jason Davidson as the new Head Coach of the Wrestling program. Davidson brings nearly seven years of high school coaching experience, including responsibilities as the assistant varsity wrestling coach. Davidson also teaches Applied Sciences at De La Salle. He replaces Ben Sanchez.

 

“Coach Davidson will bring great energy and make a positive impact with the team,” said De La Salle Athletic Director Tom White. “We are very excited to have Davidson lead the Meteors wrestling program. He knows and understand the tradition of our Lasallian legacy as a school that instills values of hard work. He will be a tremendous role model to our young student-athletes and will help them become great people and wrestlers.”

 

“This is an exciting time for our wrestling program here at De La Salle,” Davidson said. “I look forward to working with our wrestlers and vying for individual and team championships in the Chicago Catholic League. Through hard work and determination our young team will be a contender for years to come.”

 

Davidson attended the University of Dubuque and was named a Division III NWCA Scholar Team Member, a two-time Iowa Conference All-IIAC Academic Team Member, and an IIAC Academic All-American. He was the 2010 SSC 140lbs Champion and a four-time SSC All-Conference wrestler at Argo Community High School.
