De La Salle Institute Announces New President

CHICAGO—March 9, 2022—Following an extensive national search, Paul McCoy, Chairman, Board of Trustees, announces the appointment of Anne Marie Tirpak as President of De La Salle Institute, effective July, 2022.  
Ms. Tirpak brings a wealth of experience, insight and knowledge to the position having served as a highly impactful advancement professional at the diocesan level, within Catholic elementary and secondary schools, and in the university setting.    
“The response to our position announcement and candidate recruitment was significant, and many qualified applicants were considered. Following the search Committee’s interview and assessment process, we enthusiastically believe that Anne Marie possesses the skills, experience and vision we require in our next school leader,” said Joe Parente, Search Committee and Board member.   
Ms. Tirpak holds a Bachelor of Arts from John Carroll University, a Master’s in Education from Loyola University Chicago, and a Certificate in Non-Profit Leadership from Northwestern University. She has completed graduate studies at Catholic Theological Union (CTU) where she was chosen as a Cardinal Bernardin Scholar, a unique academic and pastoral program reflecting Cardinal Bernardin’s signature issues of reconciliation and peacemaking, interreligious dialogue, leadership development for the Catholic Church, the consistent ethic of life, and the search for common ground in the church and world.  
“As soon as we started to speak with Anne Marie, her ability to serve as the faith leader of our school was abundantly clear,” said Dr. Diane Brown, former DLS principal and Search Committee member.  
Ms. Tirpak began her career in advancement at St. Joseph Academy in Cleveland, OH and then Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, CT. Moving to Chicago, she worked at the Archdiocese of Chicago, Catholic Theological Union and Sacred Heart Schools. 
“Prior to launching the search, numerous interviews were conducted with key stakeholder groups to inform the position profile and Search Committee. We are confident that Ms. Tirpak holds the qualifications and characteristics described as essential in the next leader of our school,” said Mark Tomassini, Board and Search Committee member.
Ms. Tirpak brings extensive experience in fundraising, alumni relations, strategic planning, marketing, enrollment, community relations, special events, capital campaigns, communications and DEI. 
“I am honored to serve De La Salle Institute as its next President and am grateful for this appointment by the Board of Trustees. I look forward to serving this vibrant Chicago institution richly reflective of our city, and working with Principal Tom Schergen and the students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni/ae, friends and Board of Trustees to ensure the continued vitality of the Lasallian mission and its unique expression at De La Salle Institute,” said incoming President Anne Marie Tirpak.
