While the calendar may indicate that it’s still winter, we at De La Salle are thinking spring.
The reason for that is our head varsity baseball coach Chris Hall has been chosen one of the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association’s Class 3A Area Coaches of the Year. Hall was one of four coaches chosen to garner the prestigious plaudit.
Hall is entering his fifth season as the Meteors head coach.
Last season, he guided De La Salle to a 22-8 overall record as the Meteors advanced to the Illinois High School Association’s Class 3A Crestwood Supersectional.
Hall also led De La Salle to an IHSA Class 3A Crestwood Supersectional appearance in 2016 against Lemont.
“This award is a tribute to the kids,” Hall said. “They bought into our system. We won because they bought into what I was teaching.”
