JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Part Time School Bus Driver
Reports to: Transportation Manager
Function: Transport students to and from school, including sporting events, school field trips, outside charters and any other miscellaneous related work.
Essential Responsibilities
- Pre-trip bus according to Illinois State guidelines before using bus to transport passengers. Submit completed pre-trip form before the end of your work day to the Transportation Office.
- Collect and turn in bus tickets, monetary collections, checks and fuel card and fuel receipts to Transportation Office.
- Flexible in taking on new work assignments. Work schedule may change due to unforeseen situations.
- Available to work up to three early evening activity routes per week.
- Available for weekend work for school related activities.
- Maintain integrity of route times and stops.
- Maintain fuel tank levels.
- Maintain the cleanliness of bus.
- Maintain safe and orderly behavior on the school bus at all times.
Successful Candidates
- Adhere to good time management. Able to reserve enough time to pre-trip bus properly before use.
- Able to work in the presence of teenagers while maintaining politeness, yet firmness in regards to adherence to rules of conduct on the bus.
- Ability to adapt to sudden changes in daily work schedule.
- Ability to learn all routes in the event you will need to cover for another driver.
- Alert to activity within and outside the bus at all times.
- Ability to safely drive bus during range of climactic conditions.
- Maintain communication with other drivers and director of transportation.
- Team player
Requirements
Valid CDL with School Bus endorsement, De La Salle will reimburse cost to pursue this certification.
Minimum of one year of school bus driving experience.
Pay Rate
$25.00 per hour
