Four members of De La Salle’s women’s varsity volleyball program have received plaudits from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for their efforts on the court.

Honored by the AVCA as rising high school seniors were Francesca Bertucci ’21 and Isabella LaCoco ’21. Bertucci is a 5-foot-6 defensive specialist and libero, while LaCoco is a 5-8 setter.

Recognized as rising high school juniors were Amayah Jones ’22 and Ariana Joubert ’22. Jones is a 5-9 right-side/outside hitter and Joubert is a 6-2 outside hitter.

Together, these four student-athletes played integral roles in the Meteors finishing with a 32-7 overall record last season.

For Jones and Joubert, they were named to the AVCA Phenom List and are invited to participate in the Phenom College Preparatory Program that will be held in conjunction with the NCAA Division I National Championship in Omaha from December 17-19.

In all, there were 101 student-athletes from Illinois selected to the AVCA Phenom List.

De La Salle congratulates each of these four student-athletes on their achievements and wishes them every future success.
