Welcome home, Ben Hernandez!

De La Salle was proud to have Hernandez, a member of our Class of 2020, stop by for a visit.

Hernandez was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the second round (41st overall) of the Major League Baseball Draft this June.

A small ceremony was held in the Parmer Activity Center with De La Salle president Fr. Paul Novak, OSM, De La Salle athletic director Tom White, De La Salle head baseball coach Chris Hall, De La Salle principal Tom Schergen ‘97 and Hernandez among the speakers.

“Everyone at De La Salle is very proud of Ben and all he has achieved thus far,” White said. “We know that he has an outstanding future ahead of him in Kansas City, but we also know that he is the type of young man who will never forget the four years he spent at De La Salle.

“Not only is Ben an excellent baseball player, he’s an even better young man. We wish him nothing but the best.”

Congratulations, Ben and good luck with the Royals! Everyone at De La Salle is very proud of you!
