Bernard Heerey Family Foundation Renews Grant

Hundreds of Thousands to Support the Multi-Student and Presidential Scholarship Program at De La Salle

CHICAGO-August 29, 2022-De La Salle Institute received a grant of $244,700 from the Bernard Heerey Family Foundation to provide financial assistance through the Multi-Student and Presidential Scholarship Program for the 2022-2023 school year. To date, the Foundation has provided scholarship support of more than $3 million to De La Salle since 2007.

The Multi-Student Scholarship Program Grant provides scholarships to families with multiple children attending De La Salle. Established in 2020, the Presidential Scholarship Program provides up to 80% of the full tuition cost for De La Salle students who maintained a B+ grade point average or better in the prior academic year, score in the 97th percentile on the high school entrance exam and received a letter of recommendation from a teacher from the prior school year.

For the 2022-2023 academic year at De La Salle, 53 deserving students have been awarded scholarships through the Multi-Student Scholarship Program. One student is the recipient of the President Scholarship Program. These student-scholars have expressed their gratitude for the financial assistance from the Bernard Heerey Family Foundation and indicated that these awards truly make a difference for their families.
