What has been a busy summer for De La Salle’s Ben Hernandez ‘20 will continue that way.

We are proud to announce that Hernandez, a pitcher on the Meteor baseball team, has been chosen to participate in the 2019 Under Armour All-American Game held on July 22 at Wrigley Field in Chicago at 2 pm. The contest will be televised on the MLB Network.

Hernandez, who will be on the American League Team, is one of 40 high school players from across the country who have received this prestigious accolade and just one of two from Illinois.

If that weren’t enough, Hernandez also has been selected to take part in the Area Code Games from August 5-9 at Long Beach State University’s Blair Field in Long Beach, CA.

The Area Code Games will feature 220 of the best high school baseball players from across the country who are in the Classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Scouts from all 30 Major League Baseball teams as well as the Major League Scouting Bureau will be in attendance.

Following that, Hernandez has been lauded as one of the top 50 high school seniors from across the country who will participate in the Perfect Game USA All-American Classic in San Diego at Petco Park, the home of the San Diego Padres, on August 11 at 7 pm. That game also will be televised on the MLB Network.

Congratulations, Ben, on all your accomplishments! Everyone at De La Salle is very proud of you! Best of luck during the remainder of the summer!
