Join De La Salle Institute as we proudly present the 2020 Virtual Meteor Rising D-Turkey Trot 5K/10K, held on Monday, November 2nd – Monday, November 30th!!
The event provides a wonderful opportunity for students, families, faculty & staff, alumni, and friends to promote health & wellness, education, as well as school and community spirit during the Pandemic and Thanksgiving Holiday Season. Proceeds go to the Meteor Rising Fund.
Since the Turkey Trot is being held virtually, participants can complete the race of their choosing anytime and anywhere in the world (park, trail, treadmill, backyard, etc.) from Monday, November 2nd – Monday, November 30th. Methods include running, walking, or rolling. You decide! Just lace up your sneakers and get started. As an added treat, we’ve even provided options for children (Mashed Potato 1 Mile Fun Run, Tot Trot, and Drumstick Diaper Dash)!!
Instructions
Register at www.dls.org/turkeytrot.jsp
You have from 12 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2nd to 11:59 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30th to complete the 5K (3.1 miles)/10K (6.2 miles), 1 Mile Fun Run, Turkey Trot, or Drumstick Diaper Dash. Participants may run, walk, or roll (bike, skates) to the finish line. (I.E. If you choose to do a 5K, you can do all 3.1 miles on one day, or you can split the miles over multiple days. Just as long as you complete the race!!)
Send an email to willinghamc@dls.org with your proof of completion to earn your medal (photo of distance and time using an app, watch, or written log). Results will be De La Salle’s website and social media outlets.
During the timeframe, post pictures and updates on social media of your training or participation using hashtag #2020DLSTURKEYTROT to encourage people to come along for the walk/run/ride! You can also email photos to willinghamc@dls.org to be posted onto De La Salle’s social media pages!
Race Options
$30- Individual- 5K (3.1 miles)/10K (6.2 miles): Participants 13 and up
$120- Team of 4- 5K (3.1 miles)/10K (6.2 miles): Participants 13 and up. (Create a group with your friends, make it an office party or recruit your family for some friendly competition. We encourage teams to have fun creating team names!)
$15- Mashed Potato 1 Mile Fun Run: Children ages 5-12 who are able to complete one mile on their own.
$10- Tot Trot: This race is for little ones ages four and under who are capable of running, walking, or rolling 50 yards.
Priceless- Drumstick Diaper Dash: Allows for the youngest participants to dash 10 feet. If your child is starting to walk but isn’t too solid on their feet, this is a safe bet.
Donations Accepted- For those who would like to participate, but would prefer to stay seated.

*Arrangements for pickup or delivery will be made within 2 weeks after the last day of the event*.

Fastest Run Times: The 5K and 10K teams with the fastest “run” times will be the separate winners of traveling trophies. (Each individual on the team must complete a full 3.1 or 6.2 miles. Team “run” times will be determined based on the sum of each individual’s 5K or 10K completion time).
