Book Buyback Information

How does an On‐Campus Buyback work?
Follett will set up at a designated location on campus where students can bring their used textbooks. We will scan each student’s textbooks, evaluate the condition of the books, and determine the total payout for the books being sold.

What books will Follett be buying back?
We guarantee to buy textbooks that your school plans on using in the 2010‐2011 school year. If the inventory is needed, we may purchase textbooks that will be used by other schools in our program. We will not buy some soft cover textbooks, workbooks, lab manuals or other books students typically write in for classes.

How are students paid for their books?
Students selling back their textbooks provide their contact information and receive a receipt at the Buyback event. Follett will process and mail a check within 30 days of the event.

How much can students expect to receive for their books?
Students can expect to receive up to 40% of the new textbook price for titles that are going to be used again on campus. Prices are based primarily upon the condition, adoption status, and total demand for the book.

Do books have to be in good condition to be bought back?
Yes. Only textbooks that are in good, resalable condition will be bought back. We will not buy textbooks that have excessive highlighting or markings, water damage, torn or missing pages, or broken bindings product.
