Meteor Pitcher Esquivel Drafted by Chicago Cubs

We are very proud to announce that recent graduate Gerardo Esquivel has been drafted in the 24th round in the 2009 MLB amateur draft. Gerardo is one of only a handful of highschool players throughout Chicago to be drafted by a professional organization this year and the only draft out of the Chicago Catholic League. The right handed pitcher just finished a three year letter-winning career at De La Salle and has also accepted a full scholarship to Kansas State University to continue his career in the very competitive Big 12 Conference.

Gerardo is a special talent and if he continues to work hard and stay healthy there is no limit to what he can accomplish on the baseball field.
