A Message from Alumni Association President
Dear Meteors:

Many of our colleagues have capitalized on the De La Salle experience to achieve excellence and success in areas such as government, industry, athletics, education, law, entertainment and most importantly, life. We share this distinction with fellow alums, both past and present, who have become mayors, sportscasters, television hosts, executives of corporations, NFL Hall of Famers, professional athletes, famous writers, judges and legislators. We have been afforded the same opportunity to make the most of our God-given talents. Coupled with the discipline, values, knowledge and spirit gained through the De La Salle education and experience, we, too, can achieve the same.

Many of our proud and committed “active” alumni give back to the Institute because of what they received from it. They realize the benefits of a high-quality education. Active alumni want to ensure current and future De La Salle students have the same “total” experience and the same high level of quality that includes excellent teachers; best-in-class technology, classrooms and facilities; a well-rounded curriculum; competitive sports programs; social events; community services; and other extracurricular activities. Active alumni ensure this by staying involved.

The work of the Alumni Association helps support many of these offerings and activities. Alums give back through support and involvement. Our active alums give back by participating in alumni meetings, serving on boards and committees, organizing events, volunteering to help at events, raising money and donating. All of these activities are key to the future success of the Institute. In order for future De La Salle students to receive the same benefits and enjoy the same experiences, we need to continue our tradition of giving back.

We welcome you to remain active and involved members of the De La Salle Alumni Association. It is rewarding, and a lot of fun, to stay involved. I look forward to seeing you at the next Alumni Association Meeting.

Sincerely,

Joseph W. Hughes ’84
Alumni Association President
